Course Overview
This programme is for those aspiring to become members of the Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI), a professional body sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Accounting Technicians work in Accountancy fi rms, the corporate sector or the public sector. The ATI programme is an ideal preparation for the pursuit of a career in professional accountancy.
Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold the Leaving Certificate with a minimum of Grade D (Ord) in at least five subjects including English and Maths or Accounting, or a minimum of Grade D in four Leaving Certificate subjects with at least two of these attained at Higher Level.

Applicants seeking an exemption from Year One must have successfully completed ATI Level 1 (at another centre) or possess an approved equivalent qualification.

Mature learners (over 21) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.
Places will be allocated on the basis of a personal interview.

Exemptions from certain modules of Professional Accountancy bodies are available. Members may also apply for admission to Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) degree programme at Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT).

Fees
As an NDP-funded programme, there are no tuition fees. Learners, however, are liable for registration and examination fees. Additionally, learners are expected to supply prescribed class and study materials.
Means-tested maintenance grants are available.
