Course Duration

1 year, full time (with an option to continue to 2nd year if 1st year examinations are passed)

Course Overview

This programme is designed to meet the growing demand in the market place for personnel with practical accounting skills, together with relevant computer experience, particularly in computerised accounting systems. Programme participants are given the opportunity to study for FETAC Level 5 Component Certificates and Year One ATI (Accounting Technician Ireland).

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must hold the Leaving Certificate with a minimum of Grade D (Ord) in at least five subjects including English and Maths or Accounting, or a minimum of Grade D in four Leaving Certificate subjects with at least two of these attained at Higher Level.

  • Mature learners (over 21) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.

Fees

As an NDP-funded programme, there are no tuition fees. Learners, however, are liable for registration and examination fees. Additionally, learners are expected to supply prescribed class and study materials.

Means-tested maintenance grants are available.
