Course Overview

This programme is targeting those who already have a FETAC Level 5 Award, preferably DTXXX Tourism and Travel Services. The focus of the programme is on managing tourism operations and marketing tourism. It is an ideal programme for those interested in working in the wholesale or retail tourism,travel, leisure or hospitality industries.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a FETAC Level 5 Award, preferably the DTXXX.
  • Mature learners (over 23) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.

Progression/Employment Opportunities

  • Direct employment both at supervisory and managerial levels in the Travel and Tourism industry, e.g. Tour Operator, Travel Agency, Cabin Crew, Airport Ground Operations, Resort/Spa Manager, Cruise Operations and Reservations Agent.
  • Progression to Higher Education is an option. Institutes of Technology (IOT’s) around the country are offering degree programmes to FETAC applicants. Check:

Fees

As an NDP-funded programme, there are no tuition fees. Learners, however, are liable for registration and examination fees. Additionally, learners are expected to supply prescribed class and study materials.

Means-tested Maintenance Grants are available.
