Course Overview

This intensive full-time programme offers a foundation in Art and Design with an emphasis on Graphic Design. Learners use a variety of media within the area of Art and Design, combining traditional skills and new computer technologies in a creative environment. Industry-standard computer software is used. This course can lead onto further studies in Animation, Graphic Design, Web Design, Product Design and Architecture. This course ca mead to Advanced Art  (Level 6).

Entry Requirements

• Applicants must passthe Leaving Certificate or LCA.

• Holders of a FETAC Level 4 Award are also eligible to apply.

• Mature learners (over 23) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.

Places will be allocated on the basis of a personal interview and a selection of applicants’ own work.

• Holders of this qualification take up places in Third Level Colleges and Institutes of Technology. NCAD, DIT, Crawford Art College, University of Limerick (Architecture and Product Design) and Art Colleges abroad.

Fees

As an NDP-funded programme, there are no tuition fees. Learners, however, are liable for registration and examination fees. Additionally, learners are expected to supply prescribed class and study materials.

Means-tested maintenance grants are available.
