This course is suitable for Interior Designers, Architects, Hobbyists, etc by providing a comprehensive introduction to key Sketchup, with an introduction to Kerkythea Rendering Engine and also a single night introduction to 2D CAD.
Course Description
- Drawing methodology - key Sketchup concepts such as planar face to 3d volume with the Push Pull tool inferencing (snapping) and understanding groups and components through to creating models that show the use of most of the tools and making visuals with correct lighting and textures.
- AutoCAD – creation of simple drawing and import to sketchup environment
- Kerkythea – rendering of final 2D model
- Modelling – pencil took, Basic snapping, Understanding of edges and faces, 3D navigation using the mouse, push pull tool, move tool, ‘inference locking’, making groups and components, Understanding the components browser, move tool, including moving multiple copies, Follow Me tool, Using Plugins
- Organisation – Use of layers, Use of groups
- Texturing – Applying materials, Making new materials, Adjusting material mapping on individual faces, Copying / multiple change of materials
- Lighting – Setting of shadows according to time of day, time of year and location, General light setting
- Rendering – Applying styles, editing styles, Making / saving and editing scenes, making animations from scenes
