This course is suitable for individuals wishing to become more familiar with the practical operation of the internet & e-mail. One should have basic IT skills.
Course Description
- Internet: how to connect to an internet service provider; surfing the World Wide Web; finding information using search engines; how to download images and graphics; how to prevent viruses; how to maintain security and confidentiality of data; general history & structure.
- Internet shopping: on-line shopping; on-line booking; on-line banking etc.
- E-mail: how to set up your e-mail account; compose/send/ receive/reply/forward e-mails; file attachments; set up an address book; print; store your e-mails; set up mailboxes and folders; using smileys; e-mail etiquette etc.
- How to use social networking websites, i.e. facebook, twitter, linkedin and youtube.
- How to scan material, for example photos etc. to send as email attachments.
- Downloading free editing software, e.g. picasa.
- Introducing Skype.
