This course is for those who wish to learn how to catch fish with a rod and fly. It is suitable for those who want to discover how to make their own trout and salmon flies and how to catch fish with them.
Course Description
- Choosing materials
- Where and how to catch fish
- Fishing Seasons
- Learn about open waters, permits and state licenses
- Sourcing materials, making frames and maintaining riverbanks while fishing
- Discover the different types of trout and salmon flies and the different type of fly lines –floating lines, sinking lines, shooting heads, spey lines
- Maintaining rod and lines
- Types of knots used in fishing and basic fly casting skills
- River safety – life jacket, care with hooks, unfamiliar waters, wading sticks etc.
