This course is suitable for: athletes, coaches, sports co-ordinators or development officers, physiotherapists, those with an interest in sport and those who wish to learn about how psychology applies to sport. It may also be used as a starting point for someone who aspires to eventually become a sports psychologist.
Course Description
Sport Psychology is continually growing in Ireland. This has been aided by the success of Irish sports teams and individuals who have employed the services of sport psychologists being well documented e.g. Tipperary hurlers and Dublin footballers winning their respective All Ireland Finals.
This course will introduce you to the discipline of sport psychology. It will focus on the discipline's key topics, and how psychological principles are applied to aid performance in sport. In this course you will learn how to develop athletes’ optimal performance, create effective teams, and enhance physical and mental well-being.
