This course is aimed at beginner gardeners, who wish to learn how to grow their own food or expand on what they already know.
Course Description
- Surveying and assessing your garden, microclimate and soil.
- Tools and equipment.
- The gardener's calender, keeping a gardeners diary.
- Designing a vegetable plot, the principals of crop rotation.
- Ground preparation, raised beds and containers.
- Soil structure and fertility, compost, mulches and weed control.
- Choosing what to grow, seed selection, plant propagation.
- Common garden vegetables, the fruit garden, herbs, great salads and edible flowers.
