This two-year full-time course equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge to internationally recognised qualifications in Beauty and Complementary therapies. The course consists of intensive practical and theoretical training in the various aspects of the profession. A compulsory work experience module in a busy Salon, Health Clinic or Spa reinforces theory and practical work. The CIBTAC Level 3 certificate in Fashion and Photography is aimed at preparing learners to enter the beauty therapy sector as a make-up artist.

  • Education: NFQ Level 5 in a relevant discipline when accessing a Level 6 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 6 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees (Please refer to Information for International Learners) *Each provider may have additional requirements, not outlined above.
  • Aptitude: An interest in working in the beauty industry
  • Previous Experience: None
  • Mature learners (over 23) may be exempt from the above academic requirements.
  • Beauty and Complementary Therapy is a thriving profession with an ever-increasing demand for trained therapists.
  • Lucrative employment opportunities arise for therapists in the following areas: Beauty Salons, Cruise Liners, Spas, Nail Bars, Theatre & Film, Health Clinics, Teaching.
  • There is also the option of selfemployment in a salon or as a Mobile Therapist.
