Course Overview
This one-year course is aimed at people whose first language is not English and who would like to develop their English skills for a career in the healthcare system or in childcare. The course offers a QQI Level 4 award with the opportunity to study some key Level 5 modules. It will enable the learner to go directly into employment or to progress to further studies in these career areas. They will also improve their everyday communication skills. Before starting the course, applicants will do an English language assessment to ensure they start at the correct level

- Applicants must have B1 (CEFR) English
language level. - Applicants must have the ability to
complete a full QQI level 4 Award. - Social welfare recipients will be entitled
to a weekly meals and travel allowance
and those under 26 will receive an
increase in their allowance.
People who complete this course will
have the opportunity to go directly into
employment or to progress to a higher
level of study in health or childcare within
the Further Education and Training
sector. Learners will have access to
career planning and guidance support
throughout the year
