This year’s annual Photography Department trip was to Vienna, Austria. The architecture and historical ambiance was a dream for our photographers lending itself to incredibly atmospherically charged backdrops.
There is an impressive collection of fine art from renaissance to impressionist and modernist, on display in some of the most impressive galleries in Europe. With local celebrities like Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele being well represented, it was great to see the originals of many images only seen previously as reproductions.
Capturing modern Viennese people and culture, and a trip into the Alps for some stunning landscape, all formed part of the experience. We also took a trip over the border into Slovakia to Bratislava to explore a different culture born out of a very different cultural heritage.
I think it is fair to say everyone had a thoroughly worthwhile and enjoyable trip capturing images and memories that will inspire them into the future.
